Respect yourself:

Work hard and be strong in mind and body.  Be clean in mind and body.

Respect others:

As you want others to respect you as an individual for you thoughts and beliefs you should respect others for the same reason.

Respect your uniform:

Keep your uniform clean and in good shape (repair).  Do not wear your uniform other than in the dojo(karate school) if at all possible.  It is no one else's business that you take karate. DO NOT wear your belt outside of the dojo or karate school function.  This is like bragging to everyone else that you are better than everyone else, "Look at me I'm so cool I'm a (specific) color belt and I can kick your butt."  This is not respecting yourself or others.
