Mountain Warrior School of Karate can accommodate your traditional and non-traditional needs for martial arts training. We offer children's classes (ages 6 to 12) and adult classes (13 and up) both in private and semi-private settings. If your needs are traditional, sport focused, or self defense orientated we can help you attain your goals. Along with karate classes, little warrior classes, beginners classes, and cardio karate classes we are proud to add Submission Grappling to our line up. Go to the About Us page and meet Randy Stacey. Traditional: Focus is on forms (kata), technique, kumite (one-two-three step sparring), breathing, mental development, and inner power (chi or ki) development. Sport Focus: Sport karate (martial arts) is different from the traditional approach. Higher kicks and point technique are not the same as traditional and self defense paths. Though sport application may provide some traditional training and a level of self defense, the main focus is on the tournament competition aspect. Self defense: This training encompasses attitude, striking points, pressure points, where and when to strike, breaking holds, breaking techniques, and in general the "nitty gritty" personal survival application of martial arts.
