Head Instructor Gordon Hansen Instructor Shirley Hansen Gordon and Shirley Hansen have over 42 years of experience in the martial arts. Gordon currently holds a 6th degree black belt (roku dan) and Shirley holds a 3rd degree in the Okinawan style of karate Shorin Ryu Matsumura Seito. Gordon and Shirley were fortunate to be instructed by Master Fusei Kise and Master Hohan Soken, now passed on. Master Fusei Kise holds a tenth degree in both karate and kobudo (weapons).
Wendy Hewitt holds a 1st degree black belt and has been in karate since she was 3 years old. She has been an instructor for several years and along with her husband, Dan, are the current owners of Mountain Warrior School of Karate.
Ken Runft was promoted to first degree black belt in May of 1982. Ken taught classes in Gleneden Beach Oregon for a couple of years.
Justin Keffer holds a first degree black belt. Justin is a strong point tournament competitor throughout the northwest and is also training for mixed martial arts competition.
Dan Hewitt holds a 2nd kyu brown belt and is one of the assistant instructors for the Little Warriors class.
Randy Stacey is a new addition to our line up teaching Submission Grappling. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has finally hit the Basin. Adam “Randy” Stacey, a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), is now partnering with Mountain Warrior School of Karate in offering this effective grappling martial art. Adam has been training in BJJ for the past 7 years, under instructors: Romolo Barros (Brazilian Freestyle Jiu Jitsu; www.brazilian-freestyle.com) and Heitor Abrahao (Heitor Abrahao Jiu Jitsu School; www. abrahaojiujitsu.com). Currently we are offering No-Gi style BJJ/Submission grappling for adults and look to incorporate Gi-style and children’s classes in the near future. So whether you’re an experienced grappler, or fresh to the mats, Mountain Warrior’s BJJ/Submission Grappling will be an excellent addition to your martial arts journey
